George’s career in hospitality stretches back to the 1980s, when he trained at the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel.

He later worked as Head Chef at a number of leading hotels, gaining extensive experience at the highest levels of the catering and hospitality industry before establishing 3G Catering With a Touch of Class 13 years ago.

A former Black Watch soldier, George has carried the discipline, commitment and professionalism developed during his military service into every aspect of the business. Those values remain at the heart of 3G today, from the preparation of each dish to the planning and delivery of complete events.

Operating throughout Perthshire, Tayside, Angus, Fife and further across Scotland, 3G provides bespoke catering for weddings, sporting events, community fairs, corporate functions, delegate lunches, landmark birthdays, BBQs, formal dinners and celebrations of all sizes.

George is a three-time Gold Award-winning chef and has showcased his culinary skills through live cookery demonstrations in 2018, 2019 and 2021. His experience has also seen 3G cater for prestigious occasions including the People’s Postcode Lottery and functions at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.

Since receiving its first award in 2018, 3G has amassed an impressive 25 local, Scottish and national awards, recognising excellence across the hospitality industry. Its success story includes recognition through the Nation’s Wedding Awards, Scottish Food Awards, Scottish Wedding Awards and Great British Wedding Awards, alongside Caterer of the Year honours and Highly Recommended accolades.
The business is also celebrating being nominated for the Scottish Food Awards 2026 for the seventh time, an achievement 3G describes as a tremendous honour and a reflection of the dedication, hard work and passion of the entire team.
Alongside its event catering success, 3G has continued to diversify and strengthen its presence within Scotland’s hospitality sector.
3G @ The Eatrium, situated within Gillies in the heart of Perth, recently marked its fifth year, while sister café Café St Paul’s, located within Perth’s historic St Paul’s Centre, celebrated its first anniversary.
The business also holds an ongoing contract at The Quay in Dundee, providing comprehensive catering for weddings, formal dinners and a variety of events. Together, these ventures have helped create new employment opportunities while contributing to the continued growth of the 3G brand.
Community involvement remains another important part of the company’s story. 3G believes strongly in giving back to the communities it serves, sponsoring the advertising board at Almond Valley Bowling Club, providing Christmas meals for senior citizens and donating a wide range of raffle prizes in support of local charities.
