Kelly Baldwin, Travel Director of Aspire Travel and recipient of the Inspirational Women in Business Award 2026 in the Travel Expert category, has reflected on the journey, values, and experiences that have shaped both her career and the business she leads today.
Kelly’s journey into the travel industry began with a genuine passion for travel and a desire to build something meaningful. Starting with long hours and a steep learning curve, she developed her expertise through hands-on experience, laying the foundation for what would become Aspire Travel.
“My journey began with a genuine love for travel and people, but also a strong desire to build something meaningful of my own,” she explains.
Over time, that passion evolved into a deeper purpose.
“I realised I didn’t just want to sell holidays. I wanted to create experiences, build trust, and grow a business that felt personal, ethical and sustainable.”
Driven by a desire to do things differently, Kelly founded Aspire Travel with a clear focus on care, integrity, and client experience. She recognised gaps within the industry where customers were not always truly heard and where teams were not always supported.
“I saw gaps where clients weren’t truly listened to and where teams weren’t always supported. That lit a fire in me to build something that reflected my values, not just commercial targets.”
Kelly attributes her success to resilience, consistency, and authenticity. She believes in showing up every day, even during difficult periods, and leading with honesty and transparency. Building genuine relationships with both clients and her team has been central to her growth.
Personal accountability and strong boundaries have also played a key role. By taking responsibility, learning quickly, and protecting her energy, she has been able to lead effectively while setting a strong example for her team.
Like many business leaders, Kelly has faced moments of doubt and challenge. She describes resilience as the ability to adapt, seek support, and keep moving forward, even when confidence is tested. Experiences where she was underestimated only strengthened her determination, helping her trust her instincts and allow results to speak for themselves.
Kelly is passionate about encouraging other women to pursue leadership and entrepreneurship. Her advice is clear, back yourself sooner.
“You don’t need to be perfect or have every answer before you begin. Confidence grows through action.”
What continues to motivate her is the impact Aspire Travel has on people’s lives.
“Travel isn’t just a product. It’s weddings, honeymoons, family reunions, healing breaks and lifelong memories.”
