ELR Homecare Ltd has been proudly announced as a winner of the Heroes of Industry 2026 Award, recognising the organisation’s exceptional dedication to compassionate care, ethical leadership, and meaningful community contribution within the care sector.
Founded and led by Emma Louise Roberts, ELR Homecare Ltd stands apart through its deeply personal and values-driven approach to care. As both owner and manager, Emma brings a hands-on level of passion, commitment, and leadership to the business.
“I feel my business stands out from others in the sector because I am the owner and also the manager,” Emma shares. “I feel I have a bit more passion than maybe someone that just runs a business for someone else. I always try and go the extra mile for people where I can.”

The company’s growth has been both organic and impactful. While no major structural changes have been made to its core model, ELR Homecare Ltd has recently taken on a significant number of new contracts, resulting in positive expansion across the organisation.
“These new contracts have made big changes to the business and had a very positive impact,” Emma explains.
The name ELR Homecare Ltd reflects Emma’s personal identity and long-term vision for the business, derived from her initials, Emma Louise Roberts.
“I always wanted to start a care business and always knew what I wanted it to be called,” she says.
Beyond care services, ELR Homecare Ltd plays an active role in the local community. The company proudly sponsors Darlaston Football Club, supporting initiatives such as funding boot cleaning stands and providing additional assistance where needed, demonstrating its commitment to grassroots community support.
Recruitment is approached with strong values and responsibility, ensuring all team members align with the organisation’s mission and standards of care.
“When we hire new team members, we make sure they are in this job for the right reasons,” Emma explains. “They need to be kind, caring, reliable and respectful towards the people we care for. We take recruitment very seriously and need to make sure our staff are the right fit for the job.”
Emma’s journey into care began at the age of 18, driven by a long-standing ambition to establish her own care organisation. While studying at university, she undertook extensive research to ensure she had the qualifications and knowledge required to build a sustainable and ethical business.
A defining moment in her journey came during a conversation with her late father, who supported her vision and helped shape the early business plan.
“I sat down with my late father one night and told him my plans, and he was so supportive. We created a business plan and went from there,” Emma shares. “The business has grown and grown over the years and I am so proud of where it is now.”
A key milestone in the organisation’s development was securing its first local council contract, which marked a turning point in its growth.
“We were all over the moon — that’s when the business really started growing to what it is today.”
Today, ELR Homecare Ltd defines success not only through expansion, but through its people, teamwork, and shared purpose.
“The business is very successful and just keeps growing, which is amazing,” Emma says. “The help of all of the team plays a massive part in that, and I will be forever grateful to each and every one of them as we continue on our journey.”
The Heroes of Industry 2026 Award recognises organisations demonstrating excellence in leadership, integrity, resilience, and social impact. ELR Homecare Ltd’s recognition reflects its ongoing commitment to compassionate care, ethical recruitment, community involvement, and people-first leadership.
This award stands as a testament to the vision of Emma Louise Roberts, the dedication of the ELR Homecare team, and the organisation’s continued growth and impact within the care sector.
