“I often felt I could improve many areas such as sharper marketing campaigns, better customer service, and stronger product quality. I also believed attitudes towards customers and staff needed to inspire both loyalty and pride.”

A key turning point came during his college years, where one lecturer helped refine his commercial thinking.

“My lecturer taught me the difference and importance of selling and marketing, which helped me achieve a distinction in HND Business specialising in Marketing.”

This understanding, combined with relentless drive, honesty, and strong leadership, has been central to Chris’s success. He credits his achievements to focus, loyalty, salesmanship, and the ability to inspire others, alongside maintaining a fair and positive working environment.

“Be modest, do not be arrogant, nobody likes that.”

Under his leadership, Safe & Secure has developed an award-winning broker support model, allowing mortgage brokers to offer home insurance without navigating complex regulatory frameworks. Through its “sell it for you” service, partners earn 17.5% commission on every policy and renewal, supported by a strong 65% conversion rate.

This model enables broker partners to generate significant recurring income without upfront costs, making the process simple, efficient, and commercially effective.

Consistency and mindset have also played a crucial role in his journey.

“Stay fit, stay strong mentally and physically. Make your own decisions based on your own research and experience, and do not believe everything everyone says.”

One of the most defining challenges in his career came when a breakaway group attempted to undermine the business through legal action. Rather than stepping back, Chris acted decisively, retraining 30 staff and generating 8,500 policy sales in just 21 days, while also remortgaging his home to fund a successful legal defence.

“Never stop believing. Think clearly under pressure and never panic. Fear can be controlled and most things are never as bad as you think.”

This resilience has enabled him to grow the business from the ground up to 110 staff, seven offices, 25 company cars, and a turnover of £30 million, alongside successfully acquiring and selling businesses, including one valued at over £10 million.

Despite these achievements, Chris is clear about what matters most.

“Being a proud father, brother, husband and son is what I am most proud of.”

Looking ahead, his ambitions extend beyond business growth. From developing premium properties and solar projects in Tenerife, to building the UK’s leading paddle centre, Chris continues to pursue new ventures. However, his long-term legacy is rooted in helping others succeed.

“My legacy will be making other people millionaires.”

He hopes that when Safe&Secure is eventually sold, his most loyal team members will share in that success.

Outside of business, Chris continues to challenge himself personally, from training in Krav Maga to improving his paddle tennis ranking, while also aiming to own a waterfront property in Miami.

When asked if he ever considered giving up, his answer was clear.

“No. Respect is earned, not bought. If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”

Receiving the Influential Man of the Year – Home Insurance 2026 award reinforces his focus on growth, visibility, and continued impact.

“We want customers and businesses to be aware of what we do. I do not want us to be the best kept secret.”
