BC SoftWear is celebrating a landmark achievement after being named Business of the Year – National Winner 2026 in the Luxury Hospitality Supply category. The award recognises the company’s continued dedication to quality, innovation, and sustainable growth within the global hospitality industry.
Founded by Barbara Cooke, BC SoftWear was built on a simple yet powerful idea. After years in the technology sector, Barbara sought a more balanced lifestyle that allowed her to spend time with her growing family while building something meaningful. Inspired by the exceptional quality of Turkish towels, she set out to provide five-star hotels with truly luxurious towelling products.
What began as a home-based venture has since grown into a thriving business with 24 employees, now operating from its third warehouse and office facility.

The name itself reflects the company’s origins, combining Barbara Cooke’s initials with a clever nod to her background in software, reimagined as “softwear” to represent the world of premium textiles.
Today, BC SoftWear stands apart in its field as a dedicated towelling specialist, supplying premium towels, bathrobes, slippers, and spa linen to the hospitality sector. This focused expertise allows the company to offer valuable guidance to clients on laundering and product care, helping to extend product lifespan and maximise return on investment.
“We are the only supplier in our field dedicated as a towelling expert,” Barbara shared. “That specialism allows us to support our customers beyond the product itself, ensuring they get the very best performance and longevity.”
In recent years, the company has demonstrated resilience and adaptability in the face of industry challenges. Following the impact of Brexit on European trade, BC SoftWear restructured its strategy to support international growth. This shift has delivered strong results, with export revenue increasing from just 4% in 2022 to over 15% in 2025.
Beyond commercial success, BC SoftWear remains committed to making a positive impact within its community. The company actively supports Thames Valley Adventure Playground, raising funds for its vital work providing therapeutic and educational play for individuals with disabilities. It also donates towels and footwear to local homeless shelters, reinforcing its ethos of care and responsibility.
Internally, the business prides itself on fostering a close-knit, family-oriented culture. When building its team, BC SoftWear places strong emphasis on honesty, integrity, and a hardworking attitude, values that have contributed to high staff retention and strong customer relationships.
One of the company’s proudest milestones has been seeing its brand recognised across the hospitality industry as a trusted provider of luxury towelling products. This recognition reflects not only consistent financial growth but also the strength of its partnerships and reputation.
As BC SoftWear looks to the future, it remains focused on its mission to deliver exceptional products while advancing sustainability across its range. With a growing international presence and a clear vision, the company continues to set new standards in comfort, quality, and responsible luxury.
